I've been using the product for two summers now and it is perfect for what I'm using it for. My canoe is an Old Town Discovery 133, it's very wide and I initially had trouble fitting it in the brackets with how relatively narrow my Rav4 is, but the instructions that came with them mentioned I could just flip them around. That worked perfectly.

I only use the brackets and the tie down straps from the kit to tie the boat to the crossbars, and then use the painter lines I put on the bow and stern of the boat to tie those to the car. That rides on the highway very easily with no shifting. With two people, the load/unload time is around 10 minutes as long as one person knows what they are doing.

This kit had exactly what I was looking for, seems built to last, and if I ever need another kit to help tie a canoe to a car then I know I can trust this product to get the job done safely and reliably.

1 year later and I havent even taken the brackets off of my car. They are still in perfect condition, dont slip, and Ive never had an issue hauling my canoe on the highway. Easiest way to transport a canoe without an actual canoe trailer.

by:

Great service and good quality pieces just what I was looking for and they work great. Thanks

by:

The product was perfect but the real reason I'm happy with this purchase is your excellent web site and service.

by:

Product was as advertised, however it was missing four bolts that I had to get at a hardware store, but other than that it was fine. Service from etrailer team was outstanding.

by:

Arrived quickly was exactly what I was looking for.

by:

The canoe brackets are well made, sturdy and really cling in place on the round cross bars. We've used them several times and like them a lot. The only problem, apparently due to the COVID-19 pandemic, was that it took over three months to arrive.

by:

I purchased the product to make it possible to haul a 30+ year-old White fiberglass canoe on the standard roof-rack of a 2013 Subaru Outback. The kit works very well, but some experimentation was involved. Due to the tapering width of the canoe, I use haul kit with the front guides reversed to face the inside of the canoe gunwhales. In the back the guides are used as intended, facing the outside of the gunwhales.

by:

it is a decent cheap solution to putting a canoe on a factory rack. with some fiddling around i got the brackets onto my 99 explorer crossbars. the canoe goes on easily and you can really make it very secure using all the straps and tie-downs that are included. the bad thing is it is difficult to get canoe down by yourself it has to be lifted up and over the Keelover brackets. two people- no problem

by:

works great and don't slip on crossbar.

by:

Easy to install with Ikea-like instructions. It held a heavy 15' fiberglass canoe to the top of my 2013 Subaru perfectly for more than 1000 miles. I checked the straps at every stop and only had to tighten them once, and not very much at that. Excellent system when using the factory roof rack. Etrailer.com was great at answering my questions and ensuring that I got what I needed.

by:

Managers at Scheels Store were impressed with the product and how easily it adapted on the vehicle (99 GMC Yukon) and how the canoe easily mated and secured onto the carrier. It was a lot better product for carrying canoes than was offered by Cabellas or Scheels. It secured our new canoe perfectly for our drive home 65 miles away. No shifting or loosening of the tie-downs. Top Notch.

by:

In 2015 I purchased roof racks and a t hitch for my new Tahoe. The purpose was to allow me to load and haul a canoe. I love the products. Ordering and delivery could not have been easier.

by:

Very happy with the product. I had a hard time finding clips for my factory luggage rack that would hold my wood strip securely in place on the roof of my CRV. These clips are perfect and the price was outstanding since the kit included all of the straps as well. I've never used etrailer before but I've since bookmarked them for future use.

by:

ETrailer.com is awesome. I'm not real happy with the road Yakima is going down but I've been using their racks for over 30 years. ETrailer's service and prices are great!

by:

Just received product, but I'm enthusiastic about putting it to use to standardize my kayak transport.

Good service from etrailer.

by:

Great! Good quality worked great

by:

While this wasn't the product we originally ordered, this is the replacement. It works as well and secures just as easy as the older model.

by:

Easy to install and very secure.

by:

Product works as expected. Makes canoe transport much simpler. Delivery was faster than I expected.

by:

Haven't used this item yet but based on years of canoeing it looks complete.

by:

Great turn around from placing order to receiving product. Appreciate the follow thru.

It sounds like you currently have the Yakima RoundBar Crossbars # Y00408 and you want to mount them on your 2023 Honda CR-V. To complete the roof rack you will need the following: -SightLine Towers for Yakima Crossbars # Y64AR -RoundBar SL Adapter for Yakima BaseLine, SkyLine, TimberLine, and RidgeLine Towers # Y03536 -SightClip Fit Kit for Yakima SightLine and RidgeLine Roof Rack Towers # Y44UR These parts will allow you to use your existing RoundBar crossbars on your vehicle. • Recommended Roof Rack for a 2010 Honda Fit to Carry a Canoe on Short Road Trips
The Rhino-Rack 2500 with aero crossbars you referenced is a fine roof rack. This particular rack is compatible with many accessories both via clamp-on style and channel-mount style. It is also extremely aerodynamic. The maximum weight capacity is 165 pounds. The parts you need for the rack on your 2010 Honda Fit are # RRVA126B-2, # RRRLKVA, and # DK154. • How Was Rhino Rack Roof Rack Spread for 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500 Decided
Roof rack companies like Rhino Rack pick the required spread for their roof racks like the # RB1500, # RRRLKHD, and # DK377 based on where the roof is reinforced the best. We have to recommend you always go with the required spread, otherwise you could potentially damage the roof of your vehicle or the rack may not secure properly. Even though the spread is narrower than you'd like (most racks are right at this same spread) you can still use a canoe carrier like the Yakim KeelOver # Y04069...

Thank you for all of the information! Even though your 5th wheel towing does limit what you can install at the back of your 2019 Ram 2500, this just means that we need to utilize the front of your pickup. What I recommend doing is installing the Curt Front Mount Hitch # C31089 along with the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Roof Rack System which consists of 59" Vortex Bars # RRVA150B-2 Black or # RRVA150S-2 Silver, the 2500 Series Legs # RRRLKVA, and the Fit Kit # DK043. The bar spread of Rola roof rack 59757 is 27-1/2 inches (measured from the center of one bar to the center of the other bar). Because the vehicle is wider at one end, the bars are different lengths. One is 1,015mm or 39.9 inches long. The other bar is 985mm or 38.8 inches long. You can carry a 15 foot canoe on this rack provided that the canoe is within the capacity of the 2010- Honda Accord roof (check owners manual and/or Honda). I have a solution for you, but I can't recommend you use the Yakima KeelOver part # Y04069 backwards. Other than the front mount hitch for your 2015 Ford F-350 such as # 65049 you will also need at least a single roof rack bar and a carrier of some kind to hold the canoe. This would be in addition to a support used in the front mount hitch. For a single roof rack bar you could save some money and use the Darby Turbo rack # DTA968. Between the Thule Portage # TH819 and the Yakima KeelOver part # Y04069 I would go with the Portage.
