Today, we're going to be taking a look at the round crossbar for Yakima roof rack systems. This multi-purpose crossbar is going to supply the backbone for your aftermarket roof rack system. As you can see, it's a round design. The round design fits all Yakima towers. Towers are sold separately and can be found here at etrailer.com. The bar provides stability to your roof mounted racks and allows you to carry the accessories that secure your gear.
A round bar roof rack system is going to be great for bike racks, water sport carriers, roof baskets and boxes, and much more. The round style bar will accept accessories that clamp or strap around the bar. It's constructed of a vinyl coated galvanized steel, so the bar itself is very strong and durable as well as rust and corrosion resistant. That nice vinyl coating provides slip resistance for your gear and keeps the bar protected. One bar is included. The diameter is 1 1/8-inch, with a steel wall thickness of .085-inches.
At etrailer.com, we offer the bar in a variety of lengths to best fit your particular application. A single bar is available in a 48-inch, 58-inch, 66-inch, and 78-inch length. It's going to be covered with a lifetime warranty. Please note that the crossbars do not include the end caps. The end caps are going to be included with the rack towers.

Rick - 02/16/2022Installation was easy and instructions were clear. Fit an finish of the towers was good. I expect they'll be very suitable for my intended use, which is occasional carriage of a couple of kayaks or bicycles. They seem to be more robust than the OEM roof racks I saw when I was shopping for my 2020 Toyota Tacoma. I just wish Yakima would manufacture their stuff anywhere other than mainland China.

The Yakima crossbar is usually only sold in pairs at retail outlets. I only needed one additional bar for my roof rack system so I was very glad to see that e trailer offered it. Thank you for this option and for the very fast delivery.

The Yakima roof rack system is an Outstanding product. I purchased the product to replace the OEM roof rack because it was too flimsy to carry the tandem bike mount and my bike. The Yakima roof rack is solid and provides me the peace of mind while hauling my bike on the roof of my car. etrailer provided the product for the best price as always.

These extra long round bars have been awesome. They allow us to carry 2 17ft long canoes on our car or a skybox and a canoe. They poles are sturdy and allow for plenty of storage.
My only recommendation would be to add a wind breaker because the bars are the least arrow dynamic and make noise over 65mph.

The crossbars are fine, I've had several different round bars and all good. The shipping from etrailer was poor. Both ends of the box were open and the bars obviously had scraped on something, damaging the coating. A couple pieces of tape would have solved the issue.

Free delivery that showed up in 3 days!!! Can't beat it. The crossbars with the Control Towers and LandingPad 9 fit perfectly on my Honda Element. Had them installed in about 30 mins. Don't have my cargo box yet and wanted to test strength, so I had my 110lb wife standing on them with no issues (yes, the car was parked). Plan to take a long camping trip next week with a cargo box on top...wife will be in the vehicle:-)

I ordered the Yakima roof rack, with the Hullyrollers for the back crossbar and the Mako saddles for the front crossbar to use with my kayak. It arrived just like they told me and I put them on my car the eveningit arrived. Got to finlly use the roof rack on June 22 to go out kayaking and it worked great. Only thing is I did not know about the air reflector piece for the front crossbar. Now I will be ordering it to help with the wind noise.

Great rack, go on fast, easy to install and work well on my VW TDI wagon. Care has to be given and follow the instructions for the install to what type of rails you have. Works great carrying the VW luggage carrier and plan on using it to carry kayaks as well. Just have not decided what kayak rack type to get yet.

The yellow pads on the crossbars are pool noodles secured by zip ties. They provide padding for a third or even a fourth kayak.

I've attachec a few pictures of the Yakima rack on my Audi Q7. It took a few attempts to find the right combination of attachments, but in the end, the pin attachments work best with the access points on the factory flush-mount rails. Great product!!!!!

The Yakima bars are a simple item. They fit my racks as I expected. Removing the existing bars and installing the longer bars took about 20 - 30 minutes. Using a tape measure to center the bars, and an allen wrench to tighten them in place were the only tools needed. After several times loading and unloading canoes, the covering on the bars is scuffed and gouged, but has held up well to the abuse I give it. They don't flex with loads strapped tightly to them. etrailer had the product in stock. Ordering on-line was quick, simple, and painless. Received the bars without damage and on time. I've ordered several items from etrailer and never had a bad experience.
