The sturdy steel construction is protected with a matte black finish for added durability. This unique powder coating gives etrailer hitches a carbide-like appearance and a rugged look that sets them apart from traditional glossy hitches. In addition to being rust and corrosion resistant, the tough matte coating hides dirt, scuffs, and dings better than a glossy finish.

This fully welded trailer hitch receiver bolts onto your vehicle's frame with no welding required. Matte black, powder coated steel is durable and corrosion resistant and creates a rugged look. The video and instructions told the whole story. 2nd hitch (separate vehicles of course) I’ve purchased from this company and everything is as it should be. Look forward to many years of use out of this hitch. Will certainly look to purchase another hitch if needed.
Great product! Installed just like shown in the video. I did cut the cover slightly different than instructed (see photos). The angled cuts allowed me to keep some of the cover over the hitch to minimize salt-splash in the PA winters. I also kept the bottom cover off until I finished installing the trailer lights (nice to do both at the same time). I was able to get space by jacking the van and putting it on jack-stands. Using stools and wood blocks helped put the hitch into place while I was putting on the nuts.
For a while, I was going back and forth on whether I wanted to get this hitch or the slightly less expensive one that is not hidden. After watching the installation video with the tip about bending down the tabs on the floor pan so that I could install this without removing the entire bumper, I decided on this hitch. And I am VERY glad I did. The installation on this was just fine once I did the trick to not have to remove the bumper. A friend helped me and we got this on my Sienna in less than an hour. Now the only thing that is visible on the back of the van is the hitch receiver itself. Very nice, clean-looking result.
Great hitch! Only issue was that the rear screws hit the hitch after installing scratching it, so I cut them to eliminate the point on them. I also marked the belly pan before removal so I could measure and cut it to fit tighter around the hitch! Perfect!!! I only cut 3 1/2 inch width for clearance around the hitch and only 4 inches depth!
Great price and very fast shipment for such a huge box. Well packaged and easy to unpack. (I used the cardboard box to lay on as I did the install!). Directions were excellent. Only difference for my 2013 Toyota Sienna LXE was that all three bolt holes (In each side of frame) were the ones factory taped (Rubber gasket hole does not get used— and I taped over that one). It was tedious, but not hard. I woundn’t call this a 9/10 difficulty. Even cutting the plastic undercover is super easy. The head scratcher was finding out how to pull the bumper off it’s clips after unscrewing it. Overall I was very impressed with the product and the ease of installation. I really LOVE how the bar is hidden behind the bumper and all you really see is the receiver. That is SO worth the few bucks extra from basic models where you do see the entire crossbar. I also love that this is painted satin, not gloss black. Looks extra cool.
The hitch perfectly fit my 2011 Sienna, but unfortunately, the coat was damaged. I assume that it would not be delivery damage since there was no damage on the box. Please improve the quality control. Also, the attached instruction was poor. Please create the [online video] assemble instruction video and provide the link. furthermore, it was not accurate about the undercover opening dimensions. Please update it.
Seems very solid, I like the design, have not installed yet, but just taking it out of the package I can tell it is very well-built. I like the matte finish. Unfortunately, it has some defects in the powder coat, appear to be damages. These do not all have corresponding damages to the shipping box. The shipping box appears to have supports to keep the receiver off of the margin of the box, but the way it was shipped the receiver was directly against the bottom of the box, and looks to have been damaged in shipping. Unfortunately the damage appears to have been due to poor packaging. The weight of this hitch was all on the receiver portion directly against the bottom of the box, and looks like it rubbed through the box and now there are chips in the powder coat. As an overall life philosophy, I definitely prioritize function over appearance, so it’s not a showstopper, but it is disappointing. I chose the matte finish based on the advertised appearance, and ruggedness. The defects on the receiver are down to the steel, and will be rust points. I wish a little more care was placed in pre-shipment packaging. I’m sure it will work well. I will probably just have to repaint it, but it’s not going to look the same. The damage to the crossmember does not have corresponding damage to the box and looks like it was probably present before shipping.
Repeat customer here. The people at etrailer are something special!!! My favorite thing about etrailer is their high quality, high value and personable video reviews, comparisons and instructions for my model vehicle. Shipping was stupid fast! Installation was a breeze because of the step by step how to video, did it in under 75 minutes. I got this hitch on sale too and saved a ton of money. Unbelievable!!! Last but not least, this puppy is truly behind the bumper and hidden, I love that. And not worried about scrubbing the ground like i have in the past on a different model van and a different hitch. Thank you etrailer and great products and great service!
So frustrated! I’ve spent my entire Saturday trying to get this thing to fit my 2013 Toyota Sienna but still no luck. I’ve ordered hitch receivers from etrailer in the past and they’ve worked great but this one just seems poorly designed or defective. Customer service sent me instructions that basically said to bend the hitch to make it fit. Not helpful. Do NOT recommend.
Installed in a matter of a couple of hours by myself. I used a QuickJack to raise the car up. Otherwise, I would have had a time getting under there. Also used a floor jack with some 4x4s to raise the hitch in place, and then secured with a tie down before getting the 1st couple of bolts in. The image for the cutting of the undertray is not very accurat; you'll need to cut more than shown. Hauled my dirt bike with a HF carrier and had no issues. Definitely recommend this hitch and believe it was worth the extra work to install the hidden version.
I had a wonderful experience with etrailer. Delivery was fast and directions were clear. The best part for me was the video they shared [online] to help me differentiate between the different options so that I could buy the best hitch for my application. Installation was not too hard with some borrowed ramps, jack stands, and tools. Now my hitch-mount bike rack is secure and ready.
This hitch was bought & installed on our 2020 Toyota sienna XLE AWD. It was shipped and received at my house very fast, impressive. It came well packed with no damage. My install was a little different than the paper instructions. My under body panel looks different than the instructions but I just held it up and cut out what needed to be removed & it looks great! If you have one of these vans it’s well worth the money and time to install one, it sits 1 3/4” in from the bumper face. It’s very nice hitch!
Just installed it so I don’t have the frame of reference as a user yet. Installed exactly as video showed (2012 Sienna). I had problems removing muffler hanger so I just worked around it. Unless you can pop that off easily, save the time and wiggle hitch in place around the tailpipe. I had help for 3 min from a guy that held the driver side in place while I positioned the passenger side. Fit and finish look great, holes lined up, bolts went in well. As long as it doesn’t fall off the frame (no reason it should), it’s a well earned 5 stars. Only hitch I found that is truly hidden. Worth the extra $ and installation time to not have that bar visible across the back of the van.
The notifications about order completion and shipping timing were delayed, but the product delivery and robustness was good. I wish there was a package deal for the hitch and the trailer wiring harness so they could arrive together and save some $$. There was some superficial surface rust inside the hitch receiver, and it probably should’ve come with some thread locker and an etrailer hitch cover. I partially removed the rear bumper and installed it by myself in our driveway using the box to lay down on. We look forward to using the hitch on our camping and beach trips, and I hope etrailer sends me a discount on the wiring harness I will need for taking time away from my Saturday evening to write this review.
I was able to install by myself using a jack stand to hold up one side while I hand treaded fhe other side. Once I figured out how to prop it up install was pretty straightforward. Only real issue was the instructions for cutting the plastic. It’s off by maybe 0.5”. It says to mark 7” then measure out 4”. I think if it said to measure 6.5” from the reference point then 4” the cut would come out more centered. It’s more aesthetics I suppose so not to worried about it though I did have to trim about 0.5” on the passenger side of the hitch so that it wouldn’t be bent out of shape. I added pics to show that the cut was off center though I did follow instructions. Other than that aesthetic issue install was relatively easy. Took just a bit over 2hrs because I had to figure out how to prop it up by myself.
I have been really impressed with this hitch. It went on exactly how the instructions explained to put it on, with no surprises. There was even a video for our exact vehicle. It was probably the most straight forward installation I've ever done.
Very solidly built. I'm proud to have a USA-made heavy-duty hitch. I put it on our Sienna van mostly for attaching a hitch-mounted bike rack. More than adequate to do the job. I love how it is so low-profile and concealed. It was a bit of work to install it. I did it by myself (would have been helpful to have a second person, but I got it all together eventually). I watched a few You-tube videos and it went as expected, no surprises.
This has been so great allowing extra storage with a cargo carrier when we go camping! The little extra cost is very worth getting the hidden hitch (hides under the bumper) than the hitch where the cross bar is exposed and visible below the bumper. This because it gives you the few extra inches of clearance. Glad to have seen the helpful videos of what to do if it doesn't fit just perfectly. I had to brace one end under our deck and gently pry it a bit wider to fit in the space. But this is not uncommon and a simple adjustment to fit. Also thanks for the instructional video. This took me a good 2 hours by myself using laundry baskets and 2x4s to prop it up in place.
I am very impressed with the service and product I have received from etrailer.com. I ordered a hitch receiver 2 days ago and received it in the mail today. I followed the instructions that were very intuitive and everything went into place perfectly durung the install. Thank you for a great product and for the very quick shipping. Great work!
I needed a trailer hitch for a "new to me" 2012 Toyota Sienna Limited. The Sienna has multiple hitch options. Terry N. was super knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. She very patiently helped me choose the best hitch and wiring options and found a localtrailer expert to install it for me, all for less than UHaul wanted for their inferior product! As if that wasn't enough ..........she also got me very affordable expedited shipping which arrived 24hours before promised! My first time using etrailer but it won't be my last! Thank you Terry N. I love you!!! I'll send photos after the installation this afternoon.
Trailer Hitch came in only a few days and was really happy to be able to review the installation video before I purchased. You offer a great service and appreciate the help.
The hitch looks great, it’s very easy to install, it only took me 30 minutes to install, the instruction video is very helpful, only the hitch receiver is visible, it fit my vehicle perfectly, I’m very happy with it, I wish I would have found this hitch early, highly recommended.
The shipment came a couple of days earlier than expected and in a well packed box. Like other reviews, the hitch fit perfectly and installation took about an hour from start to finish. I backed our Sienna up onto a couple of 4x12 pieces of wood and that gave me just enough space to work under the van. I didn’t take the exhaust off of the hanger nor did I remove the rear fascia. I slid the passenger side over the exhaust pipe and this helped to hold the hitch in place while I worked the driver’s side into position and the cross bar under the fascia tabs. I did bend the two metal tabs down a bit and they bent back into place just fine. Bolting it on was easy on the driver’s side and I just had to push the exhaust out of the way a little on the passenger’s side. Overall the hitch seems like a solid product and I plan on using it mostly for a bike rack. Ordering was easy and e-mails/tracking info/installation videos were prompt and helpful. I’d order from etrailer.com again!
I like it. Only receiver is visible. It was easy to install, (did not have to mess up with exhaust hanger). It was of big help to transport my family bikes 1000 miles during this year vacation. Still have to install some clamp on the bike rack/receiver connection to stabilize bike rack in the receiver as it is moving freely up/ down left/right too much to my taste. Already have idea what that clamp will look like.
It came very speedy. I didn't have any problems attaching it to my mini van. The true test will come in March when we put the bike rake on the hitch & test it out!!
