Matte black, powder coated steel is durable and corrosion resistant and creates a rugged look.The installation of this hitch is very easy. My GMC Terrain is a 2015 so the side mounting holes were very rusty.FYI the person who attached the weld nuts to this vehicle was obviously Intoxicated none of the are centered in with the hole in the frame and none sit flat against the frame so they sit at a bit of an angle. This is not the fault of the hitch just a heads up to others. My solution was to screw a size smaller tap into the hole this does several things partially cleans out the threads clears hole all the way through and will give you an idea at what angle the weld nut is positioned. Then start the proper sized tap at that angle so as not to cross thread the nut. Next use the supplied fish wire to pull the two center bolts into place. Now you ready to install the hitch. I recommend putting the top bolt on each side first do not tighten. tip hitch up and start the nuts on the two center bolts tighten these bolts just so the hitch touches the frame. The lower side bolts should be lined up with slot in hitch you may have to give it a love tap with a hammer.screw lower side bolts in finger tight.Tighten two center bolts all the way then side bolts and you are done. It took about 4hrs. total including cleaning the thread holes and installing the wiring harness. I am in my late 50's so I am sure it can be done quicker. Highly recommend this hitch.
fast delivery, the hitch was correct the wiring was correct, the hardware package was wrong. I paid the shop several extra hrs to chase hardware locally and took an earbeating from them about getting them the wrong parts to do the job.I have purchased from etrailer before with no issues
Jenny N - 11/22/2022 Jenny N - 11/25/2022While the hitch itself looks and feels great, the fasteners included did not work for my 2017 Equinox, I ended up having to go out and locate some M10 bolts for the frame rail weld nuts and obviously some smaller washers to make the installation safe, this was a real hassle and took me way longer to finish.
I ordered this about a year ago and it’s been great! It was easy to install and have never had an issue with it. I have a 2015 GMC Terrain. I would highly recommend!
Ainslie - 11/08/2022The installation went along great, the longest time in the job was running the tap into the well nuts , mine had a lot of rust in the threads. Fit and finish excellent.
There are a few things that made purchasing a hitch from you perfect. 1st you showed my vehicle on your web site so I knew there would be no mistake. 2nd I found your installation video on YouTube making me feel very comfortable it was something I could do. Lastly,I was able to track my order, received it with no issue. Very well packaged and I am very happy with the entire process. I would gladly recommend your company to others.
We primarily bought this for our camping gear. Cooler, tents, chairs,it carried all of it and more. It was fairly easy to install between me and my husband. Fairly easy doesn't mean fast, this was our first time and we were out till dark. That being said Etrailer provided everything we needed in this set. For reference we have an 04 Saturn Vue
The trailer hitch fit fine, but we had problem with the coiled wire that was provided to feed the metal plates and bolts to the two center positions. The wire worked fine for the first one, but lost its shape getting it off the bolt. Now it won't fit the second center bolt properly. You should include two of the coiled wires with the hitch.

A bit more difficult to install than I was led to believe. However with persistence it worked out. I ended up only getting 5 of the 6 bolts installed but I'm only using it for my bike rack, so it seems fine.
this is my second trailer hitch purchased from etrailer. Both were easy to install and have been used extensively to haul my family bicycles to local parks and on long family vacation trips. The ease of installation allowed from me to have a trailer hitch for my car and one for my wife's car.
I purchased the trailer hitch receiver for my son's 2006 Chevy Equinox. It fit perfect and was easy to install. All in, this was about a 45 minute project that I was able to complete myself in the driveway. As with anything being replaced underneath a vehicle, cleaning out the bolt holes is the key to making this project seamless. WD40 or some other similar cleaner does the job.
This hitch fits my Equinox very well, and will provide years of service. My primary use will be for support my bike rack.

Dennis - 05/11/2022It fits my 2015 Equinox perfectly. Note: If you live in a geography with snow and cold weather, expect to spend a lot of time cleaning rust out of the weld nuts. I ended up needing to purchase a 12mm tap set. Also, tip from the auto supply shop: Motor oil works much better than a thinner lubricant like WD-40.

Installation Videos look so simple but not…
Product arrived in a timely manner with one of the hangers fully exposed out side the box. The heavy construction of the Hitch receiver proved to be too much for the delivery process and the unit was in perfect condition. I viewed the video and started the job of installation. Took me about 1 and a half hours to complete the job.
The design of the unit was such that no drilling was required and the included fish wire was a wonder tool bringing bolts and square hole locks to the proper hole down a hollow frame. The wiring kit was super easy to install with step by step instructions and with NO cutting wires. Sorry it took so long to install. At 82 years old I have slowed a bit. Now I can pull my Jon boat to the lake. Happy Camper.
Richard S - 08/22/2020Product is as advertised.. Fit well. Finish great.. For my 15 V6 Equinox... Though only 37k on my SUV... The hitch should include a tap to clean out the holes or just state a tap will be needed... Also the access panel can be cutout to fit close around the hitch with not much effort at all for a cleaner finished look... and the wiring kit was easy as advertised also.. Though I choose to run my power line from the front to back .. since I do not have a Lift...
Fast shipping. Fit perfectly as well as the wiring harness. Couldn't have been easier (only if someone else had installed it). Watched a couple of videos before ordering and when it arrived was a breeze to install.
