Motorcycle Carrier on SUV

This convenient hitch-mounted carrier lets you transport your dirt bike, scooter, e-bike, or moped on the back of your vehicle. The carrier is easier to connect to your vehicle than a conventional trailer, gives you more freedom to maneuver over bumpy and hilly terrain, and doesn't have to be registered like a trailer. It includes a sturdy, lightweight ramp that attaches to the steel frame, making it quick and easy to load and unload your motorcycle. It also includes a stop collar that automatically aligns the pin holes on the carrier and your hitch for a quick installation every time you use it.

Adjustable Wheel Holders

Motorcycle Alignment Collar

The platform has wheel holders that help steady your bike and prevent it from rolling. It has multiple pins on each side that accommodate different wheel bases. Simply remove one of the pins on each side to create an open space for each wheel to rest. The pins have a locknut, so you will need to use (2) 3/4" wrenches (sold separately) to remove them.

Multiple Tie-Down Points

Motorcycle Carrier Tie Down Points

There are 6 tie-down points on the carrier - 2 eyebolts in the front, 2 integrated eyelets along the shank, and 2 eyebolts at the rear. These tie-down points let you secure your bike to the carrier with ratchet straps (sold separately). The eyebolts simply bolt to the carrier for easy installation.

40" Loading Ramp

Motorcycle Carrier Ramp

The carrier includes a ramp that is nearly 40" long and 5" wide. The ramp makes it easy to roll your motorcycle on and off the carrier. The carrier has attachment points for the ramp on the driver's and passenger's side, so you can load your bike from either direction. Small plates on both sides of the ramp secure it to the carrier so it won't accidentally disconnect while you are loading or unloading your bike.

Motorcycle Ramp Pins

To install the ramp unscrew the 2 pins that secure the ramp to the carrier. Remove the ramp from the carrier and slide the lip of the ramp over the attachment point on either side of the carrier. When you are done place the ramp back on the carrier and screw the pins back in.

Automatic Hitch Pin Hole Alignment

Motorcycle Alignment Collar

The stop collar automatically aligns the pin holes on the shank and your hitch every time you install the carrier. It prevents you from having to get on your hands and knees to check for pinhole alignment. It's quick and easy to install, just slide the collar onto the shank, insert the carrier into your hitch, align the pin holes, slide the collar up against your hitch, and tighten down the bolt with included hand knobs. Once it's set up you never have to adjust it again.

Multiple Hitch Pin Holes for Perfect Fit

Hitch Pin Holes

The carrier's shank has 3 hitch pin holes to accommodate vehicles with varying clearance requirements. The carrier also includes a threaded, anti-rattle hitch bolt to secure the carrier to your vehicle. This bolt reduces vibration and noise in the hitch for a smooth, quiet ride.

Durable Steel Construction

Motorcycle Alignment Collar

The carrier is made of durable steel that will hold up to 500 pounds. It's sturdier than many aluminum carriers that can only hold up to 400 pounds, so it will accommodate heavier dirt bikes. It has a black powder coat finish that looks great and is corrosion resistant.

Hauls a 300lb scooter well. The included ramp is too short for practical use. I purchased a 6ft aluminum dirt bike ramp from etrailer and bolted it up front.

The ramp is nearly 40 inches long and should be long enough to work with most vehicles.

I did look into a wheel chock for the carrier however there is not one currently available. We do carry ratchet straps that you can use with the tie down points on the carrier. It is part # SS6-SL14
Motorcycle Tie Downs - Cam Buckle Straps with Shock Absorbers and Loop Straps - Qty 4
. You mentioned that you were using this carrier with a KLR 650 which weighs close to 500 pounds. This could be overloading the tongue of your hitch if your hitches tongue weight is 500 pounds. The weight of the carrier is approximately 67 pounds which you will want to factor it with the weight of the motorcycle.

I can’t really even rate because I haven’t been able to put it together to use. The carrier did NOT come with any of the assembly hardware. I have a pile of metal sitting in the corner of the garage. I requested a replacement but that wasn’t an option, I requested the hardware and an order was placed but sat unfulfilled for 4 months then cancelled. Needless to say I wasted a good amount of money and still do not have a functional carrier. etrailer please help me out

It certainly looks like we left you on read. I have contact our customer service team with your information and they will be reaching out to you in the near future. Thanks for reaching back out to us for another shot to making thing right.

I carry a 250 XC motorcycle on this carrier. I can use it on the front of my 2008 Tundra with the Draw Tight hitch when I pull the drift boat or have my single pontoon boat in the bed. This way I can do my own shuttles when fishing the rivers.I have also used this carrier on our Pleasure Way RV which in on a Mercedes Sprinter chassis.

Works great to haul my 1982 Yamaha 250XT. I use it for shuttling myself on river trout fishing trips. I load the pontoon in the bed on the 2008 Tundra and the motorcycle on the front.

This trailer is very well built and easy to put together. Since it's a universal fit into the truck tow hitch there will be a bit of play in the trailer. I love the additional strap hooks for tie down.

The assembly was long and hard for Me. If You don't have the proper socket set the included wrenches will leave You working way too hard. Final product after assembly is great. Just what I needed for this long wheel base bike. Ramp is so helpful in loading. I also purchased the retractable straps. Not yet tested on the road . Weather coming in will delay that.

Order arrived incomplete (manufacturer packaging issue) eTrailer had it resolved and shipped a replacement same day. Very satisfied customer!

Great design, easy installation, very s olid!

Used in conjunction with a curt front hitch on my 2011 3500 Silverado, we have driven thousands of miles around the north and northwest. Our motorcycle is loaded quickly and easily. The travel is solid and absolutely no movement. I couldn’t be any happier.

Motorcycle rack has worked great so far. Use it almost every weekend to go ride. Easy to put on and take off.

I bought the etrailer motorcycle hitch carrie rto drive my son and his 500 lbs motorcycle to college at CU Boulder from Virginia. It handled great with no problems. I would have rated it 5 stars but the main bolt that connects it stripped when I went to pick him up a year later. Simply bolt a through bolt washer nut and lock washer for the trip back.

i bought this to take my scooter while RVing this summer. I was floored when i found out it was 70 pounds! but with a bit of effort i got it to my condo. Then was overwhelmed when i saw all the pieces. BUT the instructions were great and easy to follow and it had all the tools i needed. it only took me 1 1/2 hours to put together all by myself and i was expecting to have to all someone!
the product itself is very durable, it will be very useful to me.

i didnt scooter wouldnt fit, very disappointed
janie m - 03/10/2021

This product has adjustable wheel holders to accommodate multiple wheelbases. If it is the ramp that you are having trouble with, you can park near a hill or incline to make it easier to push your scooter up.

I haven't used it yet. It could be highly improved if it came with a wheel chock, which would make much easier to use and balance the bike. I bought this to hold a KLR 650 which is right close to 500 lbs and after trying it, did not feel secure in using it for that bike.

Would have given it 5 stars but the ramp needs to be twice the length that it is. The carrier itself is very strong and it has plenty of tie down locations. Great product overall. Hauling a 250 with it

Awesome trailer for my son's mini-bike. Built very well and very good quality. would definitely buy from etrailer again! Also, the product came fast. Thanks

I’ve been ill for a couple years and haven’t had the strength to manage any long motorcycle rides. This carrier has allowed me to take my motorcycle on road trips on the back of my Porsche Cayenne Turbo S and enjoy my Ninja at the destination. Even as an abnormally weakened 120lb woman, I have been able to load and unload the bike myself. I’m thrilled with this carrier.

Easy to assemble which took less than an hour.
I watched YouTube and read some reviews before purchasing and got some grip tape for the ramp which I would highly suggest doing. I have a Kawasaki KLR 650 at 320lbs and a Ford F150. With a hitch on both the front and back. The front sits 20 inches high so I had an easy time loading and unloading myself whereas the rear sits 26 inches high which makes the ramp steeper and more difficult to load. The unit itself seems to be sturdy and I feel comfortable trusting it. I think putting it on the rear of my truck is the best option due to the fact that if you had to stop real fast and the unit broke it would hit the tailgate instead of ending up on the road. Overall I like it and would recommend it.

Love the product very easy to assemble and load bike. Service from etrailer has always been excellent thank you guys. Go ahead and take the day off you have done your work for the day Ernie

This is a great ramp, very sturdy and easy to assemble. I use it to carry a 150cc scooter and so far so good on the first trip. The ramp is short if you have a hitch more then 15 inches off the ground but for me it works fine. The folks at etrailer did a get job on getting it me quickly and they did a fast reshipment due to a damaged shipping container. I would definitely buy again from etrailer

This is a great rack and very solid with a couple of shortcomings I suspect are common to the breed. What I like: rack is solid and provides for stability when attaching, loading, hauling, and unloading. The three position hitch and solid screw-in hitch were selling points to me, allowing me to adjust how close to the vehicle it rides. I mount this on a Jeep Rubicon and the middle position works well with the stock spare tire. If you have too large of a spare it might interfere. The included tow hooks, reflectors, and ramp make it ready to use after a few minutes of assembly. (Hint, use a couple of clamps to compress the springs to attach the bolts).
What could be better: the ramp is very short and makes it tough to load with just one person. I went a got a longer ramp from Harbor Freight and it is much easier. The flex, which is a feature, can mean that the bike is suddenly headed downhill and rolls off the rack while loading. I cut a 2x6 and 2x4 to make a stop (trimming the edges to fit in between the rails) and now have a reversible chock. Be careful when assembling you don’t tighten the long rack bolts too tight, which can pull the rails out of true.
TL;DR - a great rack for the money that a few improvements can make even better.

I haven't used it yet but the equipment is built well the pieces arrived in tact in the box due to bubble wrap. It was exactly what I have been looking for to make it much quicker to haul my sons 80 cc motorcross bike.
To put the icing on the cake... I paid for normal shipping and I recieved it the very next day via UPS. Thanks etrailer.

Product looks to be well built and was delivered timely. However, lack of proper packaging and protection caused scratches all over the unit from pieces rubbing together inside the box. Additionally, several screws/washers required for assembly were missing. Both can be fixed with touch up paint and a few parts from the hardware store, but this shouldn't be needed from a brand new product

This carrier is solidly built and easy to assemble. The 4 tie down eyes are a nice improvement over cheaper carriers that dont have them as are the reflectors.I would prefer a longer ramp to ease loading the bike but thats my only gripe.

Great customer service. The follow up on the shipment that was damaged in transit was professional. A second shipment was sent out immediately and arrived perfectly.

Good service. Thank you for replacing the missing part
