Question:
I have a 2014 highlander and I was told they have to run a wire to my battery and back because I dont have a plug. This is over a 200 dollar job.Does this seem right. My new boat has electric brakes.

To install a 7-way on your 2014 Toyota Highlander you will need to run a wire from the 7-way to the positive post of the battery as well as up into the cab of the vehicle if you are also installing a brake controller.
This process could be somewhat time consuming so on certain vehicles I could see it taking a few shop hours to complete.
For more information on what it takes to install a brake controller check out the FAQ article I attached to the right.
If you haven't picked out a brake controller yet I would strongly recommend the Prodigy P2 part # 90885. This is compatible with electric over hydraulic brakes like what most boat trailers have.
