Question:
I am outfitting a 2014 Ford F150 for flat towing behind a motorhome. I have used diode kits for the lighting in two previous cars with no issues and prefer diodes to the add-a-bulb kits. However, fellow RV owners with newer cars are telling me that the diode kits are not recommended by dealers and even some RV shops due to the sensitive electronics in new vehicles. Ive had no issues with my 2012 Honda CRV wired with diodes. Is there any issue with the newer Fords?

Roadmaster, the manufacturer of a diode kit that has been confirmed to fit your 2014 Ford F-150 says that their kit part # RM-154 has been confirmed as a fit for your vehicle.
However, we have an even easier to install wiring kit that you may also be interested in. The Hopkins Tow Bar wiring kit part # HM56000. This kit plugs in line with your taillight wiring harness and operates the taillights like a diode kit. Its a very easy install, check out the install video I attached that shows this kit being installed in a similar 2014 F-150 as yours.
