Troubleshooting Trailer Brakes that Lock Up After Rewiring Trailer

After replacing the cord from trailer to truck the elec. Brakes will not disengage

It sounds like the 12 volt circuit of the 7-way wiring is shorting out to the brake output circuit which is causing the brakes to lock up when the trailer is connected to the tow vehicle. This is most likely due to exposed wiring from when you rewired the trailer. I would go over all the connections you made looking for exposed wire and fix as necessary.
