Your Husky 15K-rated 5th wheel hitch will fit into any industry-standard base rails, including those from Husky, Reese, Curt, Pro Series and others.

The easiest installation will be with a custom-fit kit such as the Reese # RP50064-58. This custom kit requires no drilling into the truck's frame, unlike universal-fit types. This custom kit costs a bit more than the universal type but it will save you several hours on the installation. The written instructions are linked along with an installation video.

The front base rail's rear edge is to be placed 47-1/2-inches forward of the rear edge of the truck bed (not the tailgate) on your 5-foot 8-inch short bed.

Please note that 5th wheel towing with a short bed truck like yours requires a special trailer pin box called a Sidewinder. Short bed trucks make tight turns impossible without risking trailer-to-cab contact and a Sidewinder corrects this clearance problem by moving the trailers pivot point back by 22-inches. I have linked an article that explains the operation and features of a Sidewinder.

Sidewinder replacement pin boxes are made to replace a specific OEM pin box and in order to see if a suitable Sidewinder is available you will need to know the brand and part number of your existing pin box. Once you know this you can use the listing in the linked article to check for a Sidewinder that will simply bolt on in its place.

For instance, if your current pin box is a Lippert 1621 or 1621HD you can use Sidewinder # RP34FR or part # RP61422 if you prefer an air-cushioned Sidewinder.
