Recommended Trailer Hitch and Wiring for 2015 Honda Odyssey

Question:

I plan to pull a 2500# travel trailer with my Odyssey. I have been looking at the Curt C13068 and Draw-tite 75270. I am concerned that the Curt only has 5 mounting bolts vs the other with 6 mounting bolts. I like the curt design with the closed tube ends. Should I be concerned with the 5 bolts vs the 6 bolts?

After reviewing the installation videos it looks like neither the Curt nor the Draw-Tite hitches are considerably easier to install than the other.

The fact that Curt hitch, # C13068, uses one fewer bolt is not as issue either. Both companies are extremely diligent in testing their trailer hitches, so you can rest assured that the bolt number is not a cause for concern. Since the price point is similar too and all of the hitches have the same weight capacity, I would say go ahead and go with the Curt hitch if you like the looks of if it.

If you plan on doing some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # EBMK4. It comes with a ball mount with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop, interchangeable ball set, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag. If the ball mount kit does not have the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, use the link I have included to the right that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.
