Recommended Trailer Hitch for a 2015 Dodge Charger

Question:

Hello, We removed the 2013 Dodge Charger trailer hitch Curt and wanted to put it on the 2015 Dodge Charger. However there is no way to one side of the muffler to allow the installation without complete removal of the exhaust system all the way welded up connections and both mufflers are L-shaped up to the engine or removing of the body parts. We was looking at the 2013 trailer hitches from Hidden Hitch or Draw Tite which the middle bar is screwed and not welded. Will this hitches work on a 2015 Dodge Charger too? Need quick resolution because we need to tow our dog trailer by next weekend and have no other vehicle to do the work. Thank you.

Yes, Curt trailer hitch # C13093 and # C12064 will fit your 2015 Dodge Charger. Note the 2015 Dodge Charger, the drivers side exhaust must be temporarily lowered and drivers side muffler removed and then reattached in order to install Curt trailer hitch # C13093 or # C12064. The installation video will provide you a great guide to make this happen before next weekend.

As you referenced the exhaust system has welded connections, there should be hangers supporting the exhaust. With that being said if there isn't enough clearance to work with, you may need to take your Dodge Charger to a local muffler shop to uninstall. I also think they would be able to install your trailer hitch too.

A safety strap will be needed to support the other side of the exhaust as you are preparing your install.

Since you will be towing a dog trailer, the wiring you will need is # C56234 and a ball mount kit I recommend is # 989891. The kit will feature 2 trailer hitch balls to fit different applications, ball mount with 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop, pin and clip, and a handy storage bag.

You will need to get new hardware, part # RHK to install a trailer hitch on your 2015 Dodge Charger. Original hardware cannot be used because it is designed to be torqued down just once. You will type in the trailer hitch part number and manufacturer and select quantity 1.

I have included a couple helpful articles and installation video for you as well.
