Can a Metal Vent Cover Replace the Plastic Vent Cover for a Ventline Trailer Roof Vent

I have replaced the white dome assembly BV0554-01 a couple of times and they dont hold up in Florida. My question is, will the metal BV0534-00 cover fit in place of the plastic one ?
