Combination Oil and Transmission Fluid Cooler for a 1998 Chevy C1500 Pickup Truck with 5.0 Liter
Question:
I am going to be pulling a 8.5foot x 16foot enclosed trailer with my 1998 Silverado C1500. It has the 5.0 litre motor and is 2 wheel drive. I am interested in installing a combination oil / transmission fluid cooler on the truck. Would the Derale cooler be an appropriate choice or do you have another recommendation?

The filter thread size where the oil filter installs on the motor on your 1998 Chevy C1500 5.0 liter is 13/16-16 so # D15902 would fit your truck. I have included a link to a video showing an example installation. The size of this cooler will work just fine with the size trailer you plan to tow.
