Sounds like you are looking for the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole of the Curt Hitch # C13144 out to the furthest point out on the rear bumper of your 2015 Subaru Forester.
When we installed this hitch on a very similar 2015 Forester as yours we found that dimension to be right at 3 inches. Check out the install video and picture I attached that shows this measurement.
