Why Does the Light of a Tekonsha Powertrac Go From Green to Orange When Brakes Applied

when I step on the brake pedal the green light come on than it gose to a red light what does that mean

The Tekonsha Brake Controller part # 39523 has a green light that indicates that the brake controller is connected to the brakes of a trailer. As the brake controller begins to apply the trailer brakes that light changes from green to orange and then to red as the output increases.
