Recommended Transmission Cooler for a 2008 GMC Yukon XL 4WD 4.8 Liter V8 294 Cubic Inch Engine
Question:
Hi, 2008 GMC Yukon XL 4WD. I have the original sticker and it does not list towing package. Can I assume I dont have a transmission cooler or one built into the inside of my radiator? If I dont, do you have a recommended one that would fit that my local mechanic can install? One that would fit in front of grill I suppose. There is all that 4WD stuff down there - dont know if that would interfere. Thanks so much

The transmission cooler I recommend is the Derale # D13503 because it is Class-3 rated for more cooling. The overall dimensions are 11 inches wide, 8-3/4 inches tall and 7/8 inches deep.
The kit # D13503 comes with a transmission cooler, a new line, a hose clamp kit for attaching the new lines, and a mounting kit for the transmission cooler itself.
If you plan on towing anything weighing 5,000 pounds or more, I would go with the Class-4 transmission cooler # D13504. The overall dimensions are 11 inches wide, 12 inches tall and 7/8 inches deep. The hose fitting you will also need is # D13035.
I included a couple installation videos, video review and informative articles about transmission coolers for you too.
