Question:
Hi, I was looking at buying the Yakima KingPin 4 Bike Rack 2inch hitch on your site. Two questions: 1 Will this rack be ok with my 2008 Audi Q7 ? 2 Will I need any additional kit to allow me to secure my 3 kids bikes which dont have a horizontal crossbar ? Many thanks.

The Yakima DoubleDown 4 Bike Rack # Y02424 will fit both lighter-duty 1-1/4-inch Class II hitches and the higher-capacity 2-inch hitch on your 2008 Audi Q7. This feature makes it versatile for multi-car applications.
This rack uses narrowly-spaced arms to support the bikes, which can help avoid the need for using adapter bars like the Swagman Easy Out # 64005. Very small kids' bikes may still need the adapter bar.
One thing you'll want to check before finalizing your choice of rack is the amount of clearance you need at the back of the car. I have linked an article that shows you how to take this simple measurement from the hitch pin hole to the rear-most part of the car. This amount of distance is the clearance you need from a bike rack.
In the case of the KingPin 4 rack, there is 8-inches of clearance from the hitch pin hole to the upright mast. If you measure 7-inches or less on the car then the rack will clear the back bumper without interference. I have linked a review video on this carrier for your reference.
You may want to consider a hitch lock such as # Y07235 that will secure the rack to your hitch. We also offer a cost-effective cable lock, part # e98891, to lock all your bikes to the carrier.
