Flat Tow Wiring Recommendation for a 2015 Jeep Cherokee

Have rv with seven pin trailer on the hitch has Amber turn signal red running and break lights also have a smi stays play that I am installing on a jeep 2015 Cherokee trail hawk. So my question is what do I do about toad lights?

First thing you want to do is test your 7-pin with a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to determine if it has separate or combined trailer wiring. Most likely if you have a standard 7-way at the rear of your RV it has combined circuits so that it would be compatible with most trailers. Use the chart I attached to compare what you have to what the standard wiring patterns are.

For a diode tow bar wiring kit you would want the # RM-154 and then the 7-way to 4-way adapter part # PK12716.

If you have separate trailer lighting then you would need to wire in the # RM-732 to your RV's wiring so that the 7-way is wired like the diagram I attached.

If your Cherokee has 4 wheel drive or the Activedrive 2 system, to maintain the vehicle's stable steering while being flat towed you will want to install the Mopar accessory kit 68321424AB, available from your Jeep dealer. This kit will prevent the Cherokee's steering from shaking while being flat towed.
