Question:
I plan to purchase a 20k 5th wheel hitch. In comparing the Curt models C16536 and C16636 Ive noticed the height adjustment for the 16536 is 17 1/2 to 21 1/2 while the 16636 is 13 to 17. They appear to be the same hitch with the exception the 16636 comes with the rails included. Since I need a height of 16 1/2 bed to plate, its important that I know the correct height. I do not need the bed rails but am curious if the 16636 is a different hitch that I should take a closer look at. Thank You!

The fifth wheel hitch that comes with both of the part numbers you referenced part # C16636 and the # C16536 is the exact same hitch. The difference is that the # C16636 comes with a set of universal install rails as well. The adjustable height for the hitch that comes with either part number is 17-1/2 IN - 21-1/2 IN.
If you need to be able to adjust the height of the hitch to 16-1/2 inches you would instead want the Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Round Tube Slider # RP30083 as it has an adjustable height range of 14-18 inches. This is also a 20k hitch with a round tube slider that would work great for you. I attached a review video for you to check out as well.
