Do the Extra Flange Holes of the Demco Hydraulic Drum Brake Assembly # 40716 Need to Be Plugged

Hi, I am looking to replace my exiting 10” surge brakes with this style of ‘free backing” and I noticed in the pictures a couple of extra holes in the backing plates that are not for the bolts. See picture with arrows to these holes. Should these holes be plugged after installation and if so with what? Thanks,

The extra holes you referenced that the Demco Hydraulic Drum Brake Assembly # 40716 has would not need to be plugged. You would just attach the assembly to your trailer using the mounting flange and it would be good to go. If for some reason you wanted to plug the holes there's no reason you couldn't.

I attached a few review videos for this assembly for you to check out as well.
