What is the difference between the Rhino Rack Nautic 571 and 581 Saddles?

The primary difference between the two Rhino-Rack Nautic rear-loading kayak carriers # RR581 and # RR571 is the type of roof crossbar they will install on.
The # RR581 works with crossbars that have an internal channel (please see the photo I linked for you) while the # RR571 works on a whole range of crossbar types including round, square, aero, elliptical, and most factory crossbars. The bars' spread needs to be at least 23-9/16-inches measured center to center for this carrier to fit.
