Question:
I have a 2011 Toyota Sienna and in 2011 I purchased from etrailer the T-One wire harness #118498. It failed about two years ago. I wanted to replace it. The black control box looks deformed as if the circuitry overheated. The Curt version had reviews that said the circuitry was better. Can I purchase the Curt #C56106 and cut and crimp the wires at the control box to avoid re-running the wires? If I can not do this with the curt version, can I do it by replacing with the same t-One model?

Yes, you can replace just the box portion of the # 118498 with the part # C56106. It would be just a matter of cutting the converter out of your vehicle and then wiring the box up accordingly.
Typically converter boxes don't just short out for no reason though so you would want to go over your trailer wiring looking for any cut or exposed wire that could have shorted out the box and fix as necessary so that you don't just break the new converter box.
