How to Choose Replacement Spindle Washers

Where would I find spindle ID ## to find out what washers I need .my used 4 lug axle did not have any washers .all the vidios I watched have one or two washers

Expert Reply:
You can identify the correct D-washer for your spindles by confirming the axle capacity on the axle's identification sticker or plate.
If you have a 3500-lb to 5200-lb axle (or a regular duty 6000-lb axle) you can use # 5-23. If your axle is rated for 6000-lbs (heavy duty), 7000-lbs or 8000-lbs or is a pre-1989 9000-lb axle) you can use part # 5-57. If you have E-Z Lube spindles you can use tang washer # 5-101.
All of these have a 1-inch inner diameter.
