5th Wheel Trailer Hitch and Install Kit for a 2015 Ford F-250 Short Bed

Im purchasing an 2015 F250, standard 6.5 foot box, to pull a Jayco Eagle 339 FLQS fifthwheel with a Morryde pin box. It has a GVWR of around 14K. I should not need a slider correct? Please confirm. Im thinking of using the RP50026-58 rail kit but I want your advice on the hitch. Thanks.

I did a little research on the Jayco Eagle 339 FLQS and based on its specs you will either need to buy a long bed 2015 Ford F-250 or you will need a slider hitch in the short bed model depending on the model MOR/Ryde pin box. If it were me personally I would go with a long bed truck since they are the best for 5th wheel towing.

There are different MOR/Ryde pin boxes and if the one on the trailer locks out pivoting at the hitch and moves the pivot point back to the trailer then you would likely NOT need a slider for a short bed truck.

Custom installation kit # RP50026-58 is a great option since it is a custom kit which requires no drilling into the truck frame. If you stick with the short bed and the pin box isn't one that moves the pivot point back then I recommend the Demco HiJacker auto sliding hitch # DM8550034. It has the most travel at 14 inches and you will not have to get in and out of the truck to engage the sliding feature.

If the pin box does move the pivot point back then you can use a fixed hitch such as # PS30855.
