How to Get a Replacement Yakima Key for a Lost Key for Yakima Bike Rack

I just got the Yakima spare tire bike rack but the guy forgot to give me the keys, do i need to replace the core or can I just order a new set if keys

If you can get the keys from the guy you bought your Spare Ride # Y02599 from that would be the easiest option. The lock core number isn't stamped on the outside of the core so the only way you could order a replacement key would be to get a locksmith to unlock the core and then use a change key like # 853-1251 to remove the core. Once removed the key number would be stamped on the core and with that you could order the correct replacement key.
For example, if your core had 038 stamped on it you would want the key number # Y8873-038.
