Availability of Soft Fabric Cargo Bag for Use on Trunk of 2013 Nissan 370Z Roadster Convertible

Question:

this is my second inquiry, I was not explicit enough on my first inquiry. I have a 2013 Nissan 370Z roaster convertible, I am looking for a bag type carrier bag for putting clothes, etc in, that I can attach to the top of the trunk lid?

We do offer a wide range of soft cargo bags that can be used on a vehicle roof. One such item is the Rightline Cargo Bag # RL100S50. Since your 370Z convertible has no roof and no trailer hitches available for it, I do see why you are looking for a trunk-mount bag. We do not carry any bags specifically designed for trunk placement.

You can see all such cargo bags in all sizes and types by clicking on the included link. You will want to keep in mind that the weight of the bag and cargo will be borne by your trunk lid and its hinge. These surfaces were not really intended to bear substantial weight so you might want to check your owner's manual (or with your local dealership) for guidance about placing a cargo load on the trunk lid. Needless to say the less weight you put on the trunk lid the better. A few pounds of clothing should not be a problem but I do suggest checking first to avoid any dents.

My contact at Rightline advised they have never tested their bags' fit on a vehicle trunk so you will be in uncharted water with this idea. The attachments points on a roof are potentially different than
on a trunk lid.

I recommend using a protective anti-skid pad # RL100650 under any bag to help prevent unwanted movement and to protect the trunk's painted finish.

Another thing to keep in mind is that placing any cargo bag on your trunk will affect your rear visibility. You do not want to restrict your rearview mirror's range of sight nor your overall visibility for obvious safety reasons.
