Trailer Wiring Harness Recommendation for a Vehicle with LED Taillights

I recently purchased a 99 Jeep TJ that has aftermarket LED tail lights. Ive been trying to splice in a standard Flat Four trailer connection with no success. The Jeep lights still function properly after splice, but when I connect the Flat Four to a known functioning trailer Flat Four connection I get nothing out of the trailer and the Jeeps brake light come on and stay solid. What am I missing? Please help. Kind Regards:

You're going to need a powered converter trailer wiring harness since you have LED taillights. Your taillight circuits now draw such a small amount of amperage that they don't want to power your incandescent trailer taillights for a lack of a better term. A powered unit will only use the LED taillight circuits as signal wire and then will actually power the taillights with the vehicle battery.

The wiring harness you would want is the part # 119190KIT. This is a universal wiring kit that will work well for you. I attached an install video that will show how it would install on a vehicle similar as yours.
