Roll Pin Removal of Fulton Jack for Bevel Gear Kit Installation

Question:

The handle and gear are held in place with a roll pin that will need to be removed. But, I need to know how to remove the handle in the first place. Is there a diagram that would show me how? Thank you.

The roll pins used in jacks can be tough to get out because they fit so tightly in place. You will need to use a punch that is smaller than the diameter of the pin and then tap it out using a hammer.

Installing the gears is fairly easy, You will need to remove the cap at the top of the jack. The handle and gear are held in place with a roll pin that will need to be removed. You can then remove the handle, square block and gear. You can then remove the bottom gear by lifting it out. If the bottom roll pin is damaged remove it also and the washer can be replaced after removing the lower pin. When replacing the bottom gear on the roll pin be sure that the slotted portion of the gear is in the closed end groove that will not allow the pin to come out of the side of the gear, see photo. Reassemble in reverse order.

The top gear and bottom gear on the Fulton Bevel Gear Kit, # F0933306S00, are the same, you just need to orient the gears correctly with the roll pins.
