Identifying Transmission Return Line for Installation of Derale Class V Cooler # D13614

Question:

i have a 2009 Chevy Silverado with a 4.3, the lines go into the radiator, which line is the return to the transmission , the top or the bottom so I can hook up the cooler . Thank you

You want to install the Derale supplementary transmission cooler # D13614 on the return line from the radiator. You'll need Snap-In Radiator Adapter Fitting # D13035.

To determine which line is the return line you will want to start with your truck totally cooled off. Start the truck and put it in drive, apply the brakes firmly and then apply the accelerator slightly so that the engine RPMs climb for a few moments. Put the truck back in park and shut it off.

Now go out and feel the two lines leaving the radiator. The cooler of the two lines is the return line and the one to use to install the transmission cooler.
