Differneces Between Class II Hitches Offered for 2010 Subaru Outback

There are 2 look-a-like class II hitches for the 2010 Subaru Outback a drawtite, and a hidden hitch. Theres a price difference between them. Could you tell me the difference in features for this price? Also, the Curt offered powder coated finnish, the others did not. Would this Curt hitch keep from rusting longer than the other 2 above?

Hidden Hitch no longer manufactures the hitch for your 2010 Subaru Outback, but I will do a comparison for you. Draw-Tite and Hidden Hitch were essentially identical in style and capacity. The price of the Hidden Hitch model was higher because the hitch included the manufacturer recommended ball mount and the pin and clip used to secure the ball mount into the receiver. The Draw-Tite hitch is a quality hitch and is available in a Class II, # 36493, or Class III option, # 75673.

The Curt Class II hitch, # 36493, and the Class III, # 13390, features a glossy finish. In my experience, choosing this finish over the less shiny finish of the Draw-Tite is strictly a matter of visual preference. Some prefer the less-shiny finish of the Draw-Tite because they feel that it makes the hitch less visible.

Any hitch will rust when its protective coating is scratched away. Scratches and dings are unavoidable due to the fact that the hitch is exposed to road debris that gets kicked up. The best way to protect your hitch from corroding would be to inspect it on a regular basis and touch up scratches as needed with a good rust-resistant paint.
