Correct Wiring Harness to Provide a 4-Way Trailer Connector on a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe LTD

Video on the #118415 was really good. This would work, but we installed a Curtis hitch #13538 on my vehicle and under the car next to where the bumpers bolt on each side, has plugs? So would 118258 be the correct part? I can e-mail you digitals of the plugs if you want. If this is correct harness, do you need to run a power wire up to the battery. A hitch installer told me that sometimes you have to get a part from Hyundai to get the power to the plug? Please advise. Best ..

If your 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe has a factory tow package, you can use the Draw-Tite Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, # 118258. The plugs you describe sound like the correct ones for this harness. According to our installers, the connection point is located underneath the vehicle, inside the lower body panels on the driver's side, next to the muffler.

I have included close up images of the harnesses plugs below. If they look like a match with what you have found, then this is probably the correct harness. To be absolutely sure, you can have a dealer run your VIN to determine if your Santa Fe has a tow package. Or you could use a circuit tester, like # PTW2993 to determine the functions inside the plugs. There is no separate power wire that needs to be run to the battery for this harness.

If you determine that you do not have a tow package, you will need to use Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, # 118415. This harness plugs in line with your vehicle taillights. It requires a ground connection (white wire) to an existing ground point of the vehicle frame. It does not require a power wire that runs to the battery. I have included a link to the installation details and a video installation below.

With either harness, you will not need a separate part from Hyundai. Also, you can use either wiring harness with any hitch, including your Curt hitch.
