Question:
I want to run the lights inside my trailer but need my truck plugged in. Is there some type of adapter that I can plug my jump pack into the 7pin connector on my trailer or is there another setup you recommend. Was also wondering if you have any suggestions on either a backup camera and reverse lights. Its a 7x14 vnose enclosed trailer seems silly I know but do all my driving at night dont want some moron running into my trailer and damaging the Harleys. Thanks

When it comes to running the lights in your trailer without having to hook to the 7-way on your truck, I recommend using some 10 gauge wire to add a car battery to your trailer for power. You'll just need a few supplies in addition to a battery; 10 gauge wire, # 10-2-1 (sold by the foot), 2 ring terminals like # 44-5356A, and a couple quick splice connectors, # SWC501915-1. Just find a spot on the trailer for a battery, splice into the 12 volt circuit on your 7-way with one of the wires in part # 10-2-1 and run it to the positive side of the battery. The other wire will need to be used to ground the battery to the trailer frame.
As for the second part of your question, it sounds like you are looking to add a back-up camera to your set-up as well as additional reverse lights to make sure your trailer is highly visible which would help to prevent someone from running into it.
One of our most popular options for a back-up camera is the Swift Hitch Wireless Hitch Alignment Camera and Monitor, # 04928. A couple of perks are the fact that this is a wireless system so set-up is pretty easy and it has night vision. This would be perfect since you do your driving at night. I have attached a short video for you.
As for additional lights, I have included a link to all of the trailer lights that we offer. If you would like to send me an email of the size/type that you are looking for, I will be happy to make a recommendation for you.
