As long as the factory trailer hitch on your Subaru Outback is a Class III hitch with a 2 inch receiver opening then you can use any ball mount that allows you to tow the trailer level. I have included a link that explains how to measure for the right rise or drop needed to tow the trailer level.
If you have a 1-1/4 inch trailer hitch opening you will need to use the ball mount specified by the hitch manufacturer/Subaru because otherwise it can void the warranty.
