Recommended Derale Transmission Cooler Fan for 2008 Chevrolet Silverado
Question:
Hello i am thinking of buying a derale 8-inch fan to add to my transmission cooler. i am wondering is it ok to leave these fans running or can they only run for a few minutes at a time?

Transmission fluid cannot really be over-cooled but you can make things easier by using a fan such as the Derale # D16308 that includes a power switch and adjustable thermostat. This will save you the effort of switching it on and off and provides consistent cooling regardless of engine speed.
You'll want to confirm you have enough space for mounting the fan assembly. Please refer to the measured drawing I have included for you which has dimensions noted. The Derale # D16308 can be mounted either in front or of behind your transmission cooler (in either push or pull operation) and it features a low-profile design for easier placement. It includes a complete mounting kit, the adjustable thermostat and all necessary wiring. The instructions are linked.
