Out of Stroke Error Code on Lippert Ground Control 3.0 Electric 5th Wheel RV Leveling System

Question:

Center jacks out of stroke

If you get the Out of Stroke error message on the Lippert Ground Control system, such as # LC358590, then that indicates that the jack has extended as far as it will go and cannot go any further. You might be able to solve this issue by raising the jack back up and placing some sort of leveler under it, such as # UF48-979051, so that the jack does not have as far to go. The other possible option is to move the coach or trailer to a different, more level location.

To clear the error you can extend all of the jacks in the system at least 6 inches. Then press and hold the retract button until the jacks start to retract. All of the jacks should fully retract and the error should be cleared.

I'm getting the out of stroke code at the end of the leveling cycle when the system does the final grounding of the Rear jacks. The trailer is level but I have no way of dropping the center jacks. The jacks function properly on manual so, they're getting full power and have plenty of stroke left

I've gotten this error three times in the last two weeks with different extension numbers for each jack. I do not know what the actual "limit" should read when reached. I wish I did, then I would know which jack to put more levelers under. I don't believe it actually reached the limit though. Each time it they all read different stroke lengths in the manual menu. 1 - what is the stroke limit for both types of Jack's? 2 - I can't recall if I had already plugged in the 50 amp service. If the battery level is a question, or wiring to the battery then that's possible I guess. 3 - one of the times I took it to manual and extended them manually beyond what it called stroke limit because it didn't seem to be fully extended. 4 - also the manual that the trailer was delivered new with, does not describe the light indicators and what they mean....flashing etc. Really appreciate anyone's help. Many thanks

I've seen this issue before, where extending the jacks any amount seem to trigger the out of stroke error (when you know they're not actually at their limit). When I reached out to my contact at Lippert he said that this can happen if the power source (battery) isn't FULLY charged. I would start by double checking that the battery is in good condition and fully charged - you should be getting around 13V of output. If not, you'll want to charge it up completely and see if this resolves the issue. If not, just let me know and we'll go from there!

Continually/repeatedly get Out of Stroke error one one specific jack RF whenever the jack grounds, and actual comes under weight. The leg is not out of stroke this error occurs whether the jack has extended 2 or 6 or 10. Within less than 2 seconds of RF grounding and actually begins to lift weight, it stops with the Out of Stroke error.Have switched lift motors between RF and LF, the error continues on the RF. Have disassembled both legs no binding or issues with the legs. Have checked wiring and connections from battery to control module to jack motor for continuity and voltage. All check out fine.Is this a control board issue?

It could be the control board but there's one other thing I would check before going that route. We've actually talked to Lippert about this issue before and found that it can also be caused by a less than fully charged battery. Now since the problem is only happening with that RF jack, it's probably not the battery itself but it could be the wiring to the battery. Make sure all your wiring is in good condition, and that both the power and ground wires are fully secured and there isn't any corrosion or debris preventing a solid connection. Please let me know what you find and we'll go from there.

@ChrisR I’m having the same issue with LF jack. It can’t be the battery power because I am plugged into a 50amp plug at the house. Any other suggestions? Thanks!

Hey Kyle, I'd like to verify real quick what system do you have, electric or hydraulic? Check the wire harness for damage. Also make sure you have a good ground
