Fifth Wheel Hitch for a 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 Dually Towing a 39 Foot Trailer

ok, I have a 2006 dodge ram 3500 dually mega cab - Im getting a 39ft 5th wheel. what hitch should I go with? reese - sidewinder style - etc.. I have no clue? it will be direct from factory. should I ask for pin box extension?

The hitch you need will depend on the weight of your trailer, and the features you desire. We offer Reese Fifth Wheel Hitches in 15, 16, 18, 20, and 22 K capacities. The Signature Series is offered in 18 and 24 K capacities. The great feature that the Signature Series offers is the mounting system. The mounting rails are located under the bed. Once the hitch is removed, you will have full use of the bed, with no rails to get in the way. I would recommend using a standard (no slider) hitch in conjunction with a Sidewinder. The Sidewinder would replace the existing pin box on the trailer. This combination gives you the greatest likelihood of being able to make a 90 degree turn without worrying about the trailer impacting the rear of the cab.
The custom install kit offered will not work with the mega cab model, but the universal install kit, part # RP30035-186 would work.
