For your 2013 Nissan Altima Sedan I recommend the Draw-Tite Class I Sport Frame Trailer Hitch # 24796. This is a great, budget-friendly hitch that has a 1-1/4 inch hitch receiver and a tongue weight capacity of 200 pounds. All of the trailer hitches we carry for the 2013 Altima sedan require drilling and the temporary removal of the muffler during installation. The vehicle frame doesn't have pre-drilled holes where the hitch can be installed. The Draw-Tite # 24796 also requires trunk access for installation. I have attached an installation video of this hitch on a 2013 Nissan Altima sedan.
With a Class I hitch, a bike rack is limited to carrying 2 bikes. One of our most popular 2 bike carriers is the Swagman Trailhead 2 Bike Rack # S63360. This bike rack will fit Class I 1-1/4 inch hitch receivers, and has a weight capacity of 70 pounds. Other great features of this bike rack are the anti-rattle threaded pin and clip to eliminate rattle in the hitch receiver, anti-sway cradles that help prevent bike-to-bike contact, and the tilting mast that allows easy access to the trunk of your Altima. I have attached a review video of this rack for you.
Another option for carrying bikes with your Altima is a trunk mount bike rack. The Thule OutWay 3-Bike Rack # TH56BV is a great option. This bike rack is confirmed to fit your 2013 Altima sedan, has a weight capacity of 99 pounds, and features Thule's Hold Fast anti-sway cradles. Another great feature of this rack is the built-in cable lock and locking hub to secure the bikes to your rack and your rack to your trunk. I have attached a review video of this rack for you.
If you plan on carrying bikes with alternative frames, such as kids' bikes or women's bikes, I recommend using an adapter bar, like # TH982XT. The adapter bar attaches between the seat post and the handlebar stem. This allows the bike to be positioned more level in the carrier while providing additional ground clearance. I have attached a review video for this adapter bar for you.
