How To Initially Set Up The Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Brakes On A Trailer

I purchased a set of four dexter electronic braked with automatic adjusters on them 12inch x 2. I had them installed by the local RV shop. I have the need to know the proper way to adjust the brakes properly, Do I back the trailer up and apply the braked rapidly like I would a car or do I drive forward process.

If the brakes you have are the Nev-R-Adjust Electric Brake Assembly, like part # 23-458, part # 23-459, # 23-464, or # 23-465, adjusting these brakes is different than traditional brakes on a vehicle like you described. I have attached a link to a video that explains how the brakes are adjusted.

To adjust these brakes you turn your wheel and tire around until you get a slight drag. They are then adjusted. You do not want to turn the wheel until it is locked up. If that should happen you can watch the video at about the 2:10 mark, where it is explained how to make the adjustment.
