Front Hitch, Roof Rack and Upright Load Bar Recommendation for a 2012 Ford F-150
Question:
Hello, I want to haul my 16 foot canoe on the roof of my 2012 Ford F150 Super Crew. I will also being towing a travel trailer, so the hitch will be accounted for. I wanted to get the Thule Traverse, but have read numerous complaints about fitment problems, such as the doors not closing all the way. Are the Yakima Q-Towers a better fit? I have also considered using one bed ladder rack/bar and one roof bar, but not sure if you can purchase those each as single pieces instead of in pairs. Thank you,

I have a great setup for you. You will want the following part numbers:
Inno Square Load Bar # INB137 (Thule no longer makes the bar but they are the same size)
Thule Traverse Roof-Rack Foot # TH75222479002 (x2)
Rhino-Rack T-Load Hitch Mounted Load Bar # RTL002
Thule Roof-Rack Fit Kit # THKIT1521
Curt Front Hitch part # C31068
This will give you a single crossbar roof rack with a front hitch and upright crossbar assembly for transporting your kayaks. Proper installation of this rack is critical to not get any fit issues. If you follow the install instructions for the fit kit and be sure to have the rack perfectly centered when you tighten it down it should fit just fine.
