Clearance At Back Of 2006 Toyota RAV4 With Spare Tire For Hitch Mounted Bike Rack

Question:

Will the Curt hitch C13149 installed on my 2006 RAV4 Limited give as much clearance of the rear wheel cover as any other hitch when I mount the Yakima KingPin4 bike rack? I expect to have very little or no capability to open the rear door even though the rack has a tilt-away feature.

When installed on your RAV4, the # C13149 trailer hitch has a distance of 6 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the spare tire holder. This is a Class lll hitch and it has a 2 inch receiver opening. I have attached a link to an installation video of this hitch on a RAV4 you can check out.

The Yakima Kingpin4 bike carrier has a distance of 8 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the upright mast so you would have enough clearance.
