Preventing Boat Trailers Brakes from Actuating When Trailer is Backed

Question:

hello, i have a 7500 titan hitch on a new boat tandem axle trailor. my problem is backing up on any slight grade the trailor bracks lock ,forceing me to use the manual lockout feature, i have the solinoid feature and checked it with an altinate power sourse,i can here it click ,and is getting power from the 2015 p.u. center pin.all wireing is correct. Everything works but it wont back up any thing more then flat,any slight hill they lock. Any sugestions would be helpfull, Thank You

It sounds as if you've used the wrong solenoid. The Titan # T4748800 solenoid valve is meant to be connected inline to the brake line as it exits the master cylinder. The solenoid has two leads, one gets grounded to the trailer frame, the other connects to the reverse light circuit from the center pin of the 7-way. This solenoid prevents the brake fluid from being compressed when the vehicle is shifted into reverse, which prevents the brakes from being applied.
