5th Wheel Install Kit and Slider Hitch Recommendation for 2015 GMC Sierra Duramax Diesel Short Box

I have a 2015 GMC Duramax diesel 6.5 ft box, Will my current 5th wheel hitch non slider- 16kReese 2004 model work on a 24ft 5th wheel extended pin box I would like to use the hitch I have. please suggest the rail kit and if this would be possible or what hitch installation would you suggest?

A fixed 5th wheel hitch cannot be used in your 2015 GMC Sierra Duramax diesel with 6.5-ft box. Short bed trucks like yours must use a sliding 5th wheel hitch in order to have enough clearance for tight turns.
In terms of an installation kit I recommend a custom type since this will reduce overall install time and eliminate the need to drill into the truck's frame for the under-bed brackets. These will mount to existing holes in the frame. I suggest the Curt # C16411-204.
For a sliding 5th wheel hitch you can use the Curt 16K round-tube slider # 16516 or the # C16521, which for just a few dollars more gives you a double jaw system for better king pin contact (less chucking and jarring) as well as a 360-degree pivoting head for easier hitching on uneven ground. Round tube sliders tend to bind up less than square tube hitches.
If you need a wiring harness for the truck bed you can use # C56000 from Curt; this plugs in at your rear bumper 7-way and keeps that socket active along with the new one in the bed. A helpful article on hitch installation is linked for your reference.
