How to Tell if the HitchMate TruckStep Will Clear Spare on Vehicle

Hello, We own a 2014 Nissan Frontier crew cab with the long box and I am wondering if the HitchMate 4045 TruckStep for 2-Inch Receiver Blackinch will clear the spare tire? I would be purchasing this as a gift so I dont want to ask him!

With the truck step inserted into a trailer hitch the support arm will sit 1-5/8 inches below the hitch receiver opening and the support arm will extend under the vehicle 22-1/2 inches from the front of the hitch receiver, when it is completely retracted under the vehicle. I am including a picture of those measurements.

If you take these measurements on your vehicle you will be able to determine if this step will interfere with your spare tire when fully retracted.

I wish I had specific fit info for this product, but the best option I can provide for you would be to take a tape measure out and measure his vehicle when he's not around. Hopefully you're pretty sneaky!
