Recommended Replacement Trailer Wiring Harness For 2009 Ford F-150

Hello, I have been searching everywhere on how to remove the pins from my Pollak 7 pole 4 pole trailer plug. Two wires have broken off right at the plug end. I would like to remove the pins, strip the wire, install the pins onto the stripped wire and then reinstall the pins into the connector. For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to remove the pins with the broken wires out of the connector. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

It sounds like you have the wires broken off at the OEM plug under your F-150. The Pollak plug, part # HM40975 does not have any wires attached to it. It is installed by plugging the OEM plug under your truck into the back of the connector. I called my contact at Pollak and they told me it is almost impossible to remove the pins on their connector without damaging the rest of it.

If you find the OEM plug is broken on your truck I recommend replacing it with the Pigtail Wiring Harness for Pollak Replacement 7-Pole RV Socket, part # PK11998. You could simply sever the wires attached to the back of your existing plug and splice this new harness in its place. It does have a 4 ft long wire but you will probably not require that much so you can cut it off to the length you need.
