Can a 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch be Installed in a 2012 Ford F-350 with Reading Aluminum Service Body
Question:
I have a 2012 F350 dual rear wheel truck. I had a Reading aluminum service body custom built to hold a truck camper. I am now considering a 5th wheel and want to know if I can mount a 5th wheel hitch in the bed. This custom built utility body has the same inside measurements as a standard 8 foot truck bed. 61 inches wide, 20 inches high and 97 inches long. The only difference is I dont have any wheelhousings so the 61 inch width runs the entire length of the bed. Since the truck came with a standard box which was removed and the service body mounted, Im not sure how the service body is attached to the frame and if it would cause any issues. I would really like to mount an under rail system.

Since your 2012 Ford F-350 has an alternate, custom bed on it there is only one way to install a 5th wheel hitch for sure. You will need to use the Reese low-profile hitch, # RP30054. this hitch requires a custom installation by a professional installer. I have included a link to the installation details that explain the process. I have also linked a video review of this hitch for you.
