Comparing Curt and Draw-Tite Trailer Hitches for a 2013 Kia Sorento SX

This hitch appears to attach to the frame rails with two bolts on the underside of each rail. I have seen other hitches that also have attachment points on the vertical side of the frame rails. It seems that three points of attachment would provide additional stability. What are the advantages of only two bolts on each side? 2013 Kia Sorento SX V6 AWD

The third attachment point for Curt trailer hitch # C13073 for your 2013 Kia Sorento SX might help to keep the hitch from rotating but it is more there out of necessity due to the L-shaped frame brackets. That design is no more or less beneficial than trailer hitch # 75684 with its 4 total attachment points.

Trailer hitch # 75684 is actually more versatile since it is rated for use with weight distribution whereas Curt hitch C13073 is not, even with its additional bolts. And if you were to use the hitch for a non-trailer load such as a bike rack or cargo carrier, you would have to use stabilization strap # 18050 with the Curt hitch (for their warranty). Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 75684 does not have that requirement. Based on all of this information I recommend the Draw-Tite # 75684.

If you plan on doing some towing I recommend etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.

If the ball mount kit does not have the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, use the link I have included that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.

And for trailer wiring if your Sorento did NOT come with the factory tow package use # 119147KIT. If it did come with the factory tow package use # C56332.
