How to Replace Sportback Roof Rack Lock Cylinder

Question:

the lock cylinder on my Sportback SR1002 says 005 on it and is busted so I need a new one. Will any of the Thule lock cylinders fit in it? How can I get the old busted one out? The keys I have also say 005. Will I need a whole new key and lock system. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Good news, I can help you get that cylinder replaced.

We have a cylinder that will replace the set that matches your keys # THLOCKN005.

To get the old lock core out you will need a key like # 853-1251, you would have gotten one with the original rack, but if you do not have it anymore this one will work for you. If the core is heavily damaged you may have to take it to a lock smith to see if they can remove it.
