Fit of Curt 2-Inch Bumper-Mount Hitch E-3S on Step Bumper of 2011 Toyota Tacoma

Question:

Hi, the outside holes on my rear step bumper are precisely 8inch on centre. It looks from the photos that there is some play in the holes on the 3S, being 8 3/4inch Is there enough play without having to enlarge the existing holes in my bumper? Thanks.

I got a sample of the Curt 2-Inch Bumper-Mount Hitch # E-3S from our warehouse so I could re-check the size and spacing of the mounting holes. The larger oval holes that accept the 3/4-inch hex bolts measure 3/4-inch x 1-1/4-inch. Their two outside edges are 9-3/4-inches apart and their two inside edges are spaced at 7-1/4-inches apart. This means you should have enough bolt clearance with your bumper's 8-inch center-to-center hole spacing. Those holes will need to be large enough to accept the two included 3/4-inch coarse-thread hex bolts.

I have added these dimensions and others to the linked photo.
