How To Run 4-Way Trailer Wire Harness Wiring For Trailer

I have wired my trailer and I have the running lights working and the only wires are the yellow and green turn and brake wires that do not work. The end of the wires are just sticking out and end at nothing. Doe I have to run these to ground or just what? I have no turn signal or brake lights. I followed all the instructions and the plug on the truck work with other trailers. What have I not done? Thanks

If you have the yellow and green wire as you said, sticking out and attached to nothing, you will have no turn or brake lights working. On trailer wiring, the green wire will be for the right turn and brake and the yellow wire will be for the left turn and brake. The brown wire on a 4-way harness will be attached to the running lights and the white wire coming from the connector is the ground and should be attached to a clean, bare metal surface like the trailer frame.

Each light needs to be grounded, either by the mounting screws or by attaching the ground wire from the light to the trailer frame with a ring terminal.

I have attached a helpful article that has a diagram of trailer wiring you can check out.
