Weight Distribution System Recommendation for 1,000 lb Tongue Weight

i am looking at the blue ox weight distribution / sway control my tongue weight is about 1000 pounds. would the 1500 be too much ? could i just use 1 more chain link ?

Your tongue weight falls into somewhat of a void for what Blue Ox offers for weight distribution systems. If your loaded tongue weight is right at 1,000 lbs (this figure also counts the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle), then the # BXW1500 would be rated a bit too high for you. Going with a higher than needed WD system will give you a very harsh ride so this would not be ideal.

The next system down is the 1,000 lb tongue weight part # BXW1000. Now if you happen to be right under 1,000 lbs tongue weight this system would work for you.

The best solution we have is going to be the Reese Strait Line part # RP66084 which has a tongue weight range of 600-1,200 lbs and features the only sway control on the market designed to fight sway before it starts.

For a 2 inch ball you would want part # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # 19286.
